Introducing our Spar Buoy with Motion Stabilizer − a cutting-edge solution developed under the support of Japan’s New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) in 2013.
This advanced buoy was designed to revolutionize offshore wind assessment. In regions being considered for bottom-fixed offshore wind farms, accurate wind condition data is essential. Traditionally, this required the construction of large, fixed observation towers − an approach that was time-consuming, costly, and often disruptive to local marine environments.
Our innovative alternative? A compact Doppler LiDAR mounted on a low-motion spar buoy. This system enables precise wind profiling from above the ocean surface, without the need for permanent infrastructure. It dramatically reduces installation time and cost, while minimizing environmental impact − especially in sensitive fishing areas.
After three years of intensive research and development, the Super Buoy system was successfully commercialized. Today, it stands as a practical, efficient, and eco-friendly platform for offshore wind resource assessment.
